UT Quality/UT Quality USA industriesIndustries/Data centers
Data center construction puts a lot of welding on a short schedule: chilled-water and condenser loops, generator fuel piping, gas laterals into the site, fuel storage tanks, and the structural steel that carries all of it. UT Quality USA inspects that welding with the same union crews, written practice and reporting used on pipeline and facility work.
The scope UT Quality USA crews are asked for on this work.
Welded carbon and stainless piping serving cooling plants and distribution loops, inspected volumetrically by radiography or ultrasonics and on the surface by MT or PT, to the ASME B31 code your specification names.
Diesel fuel supply and return piping, day tanks and bulk fuel storage, and natural gas laterals and headers feeding generators or turbines.
Moment connections, built-up members, pipe racks and equipment supports, inspected by MT, PT, UT and VT against AWS D1.1 acceptance criteria.
Air receivers, heat exchangers and other pressure vessels and their nozzle welds, inspected to ASME Section VIII and reported with the rest of the package.
Automated ultrasonic testing, phased array and TOFD, semi-automated ultrasonics, radiography by film, computed, digital and real-time methods, and the four conventional methods — magnetic particle, liquid penetrant, ultrasonic and visual testing — plus positive material identification. UT Quality’s automated ultrasonic system is proprietary, designed and built in-house.
Inspected and reported to the code your specification names: ASME B31.1 and B31.3 for piping, AWS D1.1 for structural steel, ASME Section VIII for pressure equipment, ASME Section IX for welder and procedure qualification, and API 650 where bulk fuel storage tanks are in scope.
Data center schedules are built around commissioning dates, so inspection has to keep up with the welding rather than follow it. Crews mobilize from the Katy, Texas base, work the same shift pattern as the mechanical contractor, and turn reports around so a weld does not sit waiting on a result.
Radiography or ultrasonics for the weld volume, magnetic particle and liquid penetrant for surface and near-surface flaws, visual testing against the governing code, and positive material identification where alloy verification is specified.
Yes. Structural connections, built-up members, pipe racks and equipment supports are inspected by MT, PT, UT and VT against AWS D1.1, alongside the piping scope, on the same mobilization.
Yes. Liquid penetrant and ultrasonic methods are used on austenitic stainless, with the technique and procedure qualified for the material before work starts.
Every report is written to our written practice and to the code the specification names, in a form an owner or an authorized inspector can audit later.
Technicians are certified Level I, II and III to our written practice under ASNT SNT-TC-1A / ANSI/ASNT CP-189, with Level III oversight of procedures and interpretation. UT Quality USA is a union operation.
Tell us the scope, the material and the governing code, and a UT Quality representative will follow up.
